?? for board administrator

I’ve been on this board fairly regularly for more than a year, now.

I really like it and genuinely appreciate the info one can glean from it. However, one small thing puzzles and annoys me: My edits never seem to “take” when I go back to edit a posting I’ve made.

Minutes ago, I tried to correct a typo in a posting I just made and, just like every time before, the correction did not work and the mistake remains.

I do what seems intuitively obvious in trying to make the correction. Am I just doing something wrong? Or is the edit function messed up?

I’m not complaining. It’s just that I take pride in trying to do a good job of spelling, grammar, and punctuation and it annoys me when I cannot correct a typo. (I’m not the world’s best typist.)

There’s a problem with the comments in that edits aren’t written back to the database. I’ve been wanting to upgrade, but have had other priorities, like eating. :-)

The last time I attempted an upgrade it took more than two hours and didn’t move over all the old data, namely the polls and users. So, once again, I put it on the backburner until I could figure out what the problem was with the upgrade scripts.

I have a few other priorities right now (like finding the spammers that are joe jobbing me and beating them within an inch of their lives) but mostly updating my mail services to deal with the increased spam levels and virus activity. After that, I have several paying projects that I’m working on, but then before spring, I hope to get the site updated with quite a few changes.

    Dennis
