Press Relase
ATLANTA – Cox Communications announced today that it’s now offering digital subscribers even more high definition (HD) content with the availability of HD movies in its On DEMAND library. The service is currently available in Cox’s San Diego operation with the company’s Northern Virginia and Oklahoma City markets slated to launch next. Additional markets are expected to launch this summer.

“As more of our customers upgrade their viewing experience with high definition televisions, we will continue to expand our HD offerings both by adding more HD channels and through interactive options like On DEMAND,” said David Pugliese, vice president of product marketing for Cox. “We know that our customers want more HD and our network is set up to deliver the best quality HD experience available with the choice and convenience they expect.”

Cox digital customers in On DEMAND markets can access the HD movies by tuning to Channel 1. Movies available include Hollywood hits and new releases. Cox offers more than 20 movie titles in high definition with plans for additional On DEMAND HD content in the future.

“Recent consumer research shows that satellite companies can’t match cable’s high quality HD picture,” added Pugliese. “Plus Cox is the only place to get a true On DEMAND experience, making it even clearer why Cox is the best choice for entertainment and communications in our markets.”

On DEMAND offers Cox Digital Cable subscribers a library of over 5000 movies, shows and music videos to view anytime they wish, with many programs available at no charge Cox also offers premium On Demand content to subscribers of HBO, Starz, Showtime and Cinemax.

On DEMAND from Cox is available in the following markets: Greater Louisiana: Cleveland; Roanoke, Hampton Roads and Northern Va.; Kansas; Las Vegas; New England; Oklahoma City; Tulsa; Orange County, Calif.; San Diego and Omaha, Neb.
