OETA and The War: A Ken Burns Film
OETA has had a problem for the past several weeks where the audio on their HD broadcasts is messed up for the first part of any show. Tonight that’s happening with the Ken Burns documentary The War. Hopefully, it’s a local issue and not national…
7:30 p.m. update: The sound finally kicked in…
9:30 p.m. update: The repeat starting now has sound, but my guess is that they’ll turn off the HD at 10 p.m. to go back to multicasting four channels.
Tuesday update: The show has sound tonight. Also, they carried it in HD up through midnight last night so apparently the replays are going to be in HD.

I don’t even watch OETA anymore. Never know what is going to be on and when. Never know what is going to be HD and when.
I just gave up and started watching more National Geographic HD
In Tulsa my DVR keeps telling me that channel 711 on Cox is unrecordable channel. At 7 when I tried to record, the channel was blank and did not come up until around 8 or later. At 9 when 711 rebroadcast the show I still get unrecordable channel.
I have been hoping that PBS-HD would find its way to DISH since cable has it. I have very disappointed with OETA and their change in policy; earlier they had said the would spend prime time in HD and keep multiplexing during the day.
With HG and Equater doing a better job I have mostly stop trying OETA. They are not consistant. One Sunday Nature is in HD and another it is letter boxed SD; not even willing to at least key it to fill the whole screen.
I don’t have any recorder so I have no experience with any problems but a guy at work was recording some shows and he said he sometimes found a surprise when he went to play them back.
