All 32" TV's manufactured after 3/06 must have a digital tuner. Some manufactures are making "monitors" which have no tuner at all.

you did not say if you have or want a program provider. If you are looking for mostly over the air programing make certain it has a digital tuner rather than analog only.

There are a ton of 32" LCDs out there for under $700. Aside from WalMart, look at Office Depot, Target, Best Buy, K-Mart... I've even seen sub $700 LCDs at Big Lots! However, watch out for a couple of things. One is the after warranty servicing costs. Some cheapie LCDs can be more expensive to repair than just replace after the initial warranty runs out. Second is the contrast ratio-the higher it is, the better the picture. The 32" LCD I have my eye on is the Philips at WalMart... it has two HDMI inputs, plus a USB input and has a 3200:1 contrast ratio. All that for $756!

I recently got a 32" Sharp for $650 at Circuit City, normally $800. It's 720p but at 32" I don't think 1080p is really necessary.

BUT pay close attention to the ports the TV has. Make sure it has HDMI.. A lot of the cheapies will cut corners like that. Look at the features, features and features before you buy. Make sure you know why the LCD is so much cheaper than the others..

The 32-inch LCD model I bought for about $1500 3 years ago is down to around $500 and the 37-inch models are around $700. If you go to Walmart, you'll see most 32-inch models, including more well-known brands like Samsung and Sony, are much less than $700 so you shouldn't have any problem finding something in that price range.
