I try to compare only the actual HD package. Dish ran their count up by adding dozens of Ice Hockey and football channels plus some HD alt. sports channels but all of these cost more and if it they are of no interest to you then they count for nothing.

I never thought Dish would drop the ball [pardon the pun] when they had such a lead but they did. They drop the crowing channel because they know they lost their lead. They shifted some channel numbers but that does not count for anything either. And they added a "test" channel off away from the other HD stuff which I think means they are experimenting with data cheating as Directv had done [I assume they stopped since no one has complained about it in some time].

It is very possible they will soon add more channels and maybe even regain the lead. I hope so but as I told them in an e-mail switching a program provider is just a phone call away.

Are you kidding me cox adding quality channels???? Sports channels are good. They also have HGTV, HDNET, HDNET movies. Cox adds crap and then makes a commercial to make it look like they are adding lots of channels. Who are the stupid. I am a cox subscriber currently but Dish and Directv kick their but in HDTV offerings you are fooling yourself.

Oh boy....MORE sports channels. If this is what they are using in their claim of "100s of HD channels" I'll pass.

At least Cox is adding QUALITY HD channels and not simply running up the count.

Also, I didn't realize Spongebob Squarepants was in HD....

DirecTVs numbers game doesn't fool the smart consumer....just the dopes who buy their TVs at Walmart.
