No HD BCS bowls on cable in northwestern Oklahoma

Glenn Gore writes:

A little TV station in Woodward, KOMI-DT, channel 24, an Ion/Bloomberg rinky-dink (in my opinion) operation, has turned off its analog transmitter and switched its digital transmitter up to what they say is their full allowable power, and with that move has knocked KOKH-DT 24’s signal off the air in most of western and northwestern Oklahoma. This move has eliminated the Fox HD programming from cable in Woodward, Taloga, Clinton, and many other towns. Here at Taloga Cable we have been unable to get KOKH’s signal back on, so no one will be able to watch any of the BCS bowls in HD this year like they have in the past.

  1. SeaJohn responds:

I can’t get the game here in Norman on Fox 25.1. All the other normal digital channels are coming in fine. Is this the reason why?

  2. ggore responds:

The Woodward station would have no effect on KOKH-DT reception in Norman. It’s just us here in western OK that can no longer receive Fox-HD.

  3. Bobarino responds:

Has anyone filed a complaint with the FCC yet?

  4. ggore responds:

Sinclair has filed a complaint, but the FCC is wanting more information before acting. Nothing will change before the Super Bowl I’m sure. Right now it’s a statemate, KOMI is blowing KOKH’s DT signal off the air all over northwestern OK.
