sorry guys if this is a lil off topic but as of 3:45 A.M KFOR 4.1 has turned their widescreen/black bars off(no channel 4 in top right corner) and are broadcasting like a normal sd channel. Upgrading equipment maybe? Hopefully we can get that weather crawler going without turning hd off. or then again it could be just a fluke. who knows.

  2. Dennis Whiteman responds:

I’m not sure it’s off-topic at all. I’d love to see KFOR make an investment in new technology. Of the major networks, they’re only ones that don’t have the ability to put text or weather maps over NBC programming.

They have the worst conversion equipment and thus the worst looking SD picture of any station. As the first station in the market with any equipment back in 1999, you have to think KFOR is going to upgrade prior to the DTV changeover.

    Dennis

  3. rickster responds:

    Dennis–your comments are right on.
    At 9am June 20 CH4-1, and 4-2 are in 480i blurry format.
At least it’s not their old blurry puke green.
Yesterday they had a faint 60 hertz noise bar running thru the picture which at times was flickering. Lets hope they are in the upgrade process.

  4. zenithtv responds:

KFOR DT has issues all the time! Garbage in Garbage out! KFOR the Garbage Channel! Puke green Video!
