Well, I guess I’m going to have to get my Sooner-fan dad (step-dad, really, but he’s like a dad to me) to sign up, finally, for Dish Network’s HD package so he can see my Pokes in HD on the 40″ Samsung I bought for him last football season.

I will be at the game in Seattle so I guess I’ll be watching it in HD, too, but without the HD DVR’s “go back” button. . . . :-)

  2. Kevin Sherrard responds:

    You could always Slingbox it.

  3. Sooner Al responds:

My wife and I along with her oldest and younget sons will be in Seattle also for the game…

“1984Poke”… Have you come over to the dark side and are now rooting for OU?…:-)

    “Sooner Al”–

Well, let’s just say that I love my dad. He’s a truly wonderful guy, other than that one character flaw of being a Sooner fan ;-) so if he wants to watch his Sooners in high-def, then I want to make it possible for him to do so.

That’s why I bought him that 40″ Samsung last September. It was an (early) Christmas present. I hooked it up to an over-the-air antenna so he could at least see games on the OKC stations in HD.

He’s been reluctant to upgrade to Dish’s HD programming package (ESPN, Fox Sports SW, etc.) & equipment but I’ve been encouraging him to do so before football season starts.

    I think he’s ready to take the plunge . . . . :-) Wish me luck.
