Warren Theaters to Expand Presence in OKC

It was announced a few days ago that Warren Theaters is going to expand its presence in the OKC metro area. First the Warren Theater in Moore is going to get 6 more screen and 500 new parking spaces. The big plans it to build another theater at Rockwell and Memorial Road with 4 stadium style theaters. I imagine these will have the balcony/lounge feature. The new theater will not open until 2010. I have seen 5 or 6 movies in the new theater and I have loved every minute being in there. Be sure and check out the chocolate malts. They are yummy.

Excellent! By then you might be able to buy a ticket for the upstairs and see the movie on the same day.

  2. Kevin Sherrard responds:

Yeah no kidding. I drive by there every day going home from work it is always packed. I have eaten upstairs once. I had the southwest chicken and sausage pasta while watching Indiana Jones. The food is pretty good better than what I expected. A manager told me they had a ticketing problems with underage kids trying to buy tickets online for the balcony and different ticketing systems giving away the same seats. Best advice is to call or go by there to find out the availability of the balcony tickets.

I am going to take my daughter to go see Walle next week. Yeah!

I was amazed by The Warren. For years I’ve only gone to see the “must see” movies at the theater because my home theater is just as nice. Warren blows that away. It’s like watching HDTV on a huge screen with killer sound!

Now if they could put one in Yukon…

Sorry about posting about non related with warren theatre but it seems to me know that channel 4(omg i know) has upgraded their equipment. maybe not but they are playing jay leno in hd at 2:30 am they never ever ever had him in hd after the initial 10:30 showing and barely let conan be in hd. It seems to me they finally broke down and bought some new equipment to record hd and reair it over the air.hence the reason why jay is in hd at 2:30 in the morning.Hopefully they can do weather maps now over hd, if not im sure it will come shortly after this nice upgrade. Who knows maybe even air local news in hd first in okc? time will tell i have my money on koco(kwtv a close second but ive heard things about griffin communications so im not holding my breath) but i may be wrong.

  5. Dennis Whiteman responds:

They may or may not have upgraded their equipment, but they still can’t or won’t put weather maps over NBC programming.

  6. ralfthedog responds:

I have been asking about the new Warren. It is not true that they will have a Walmart on the 7th floor. It will be on the 5th, next to the zoo. If the place gets any bigger it will have it’s own zip code.

  7. trueview responds:

are they ready to do 3-D? Journey To The Center of the Earth is said to be 3-D for all these theators and 2-D for film and us with one good eye.

  8. Phillip responds:

From what I have read the Rockwell and Memorial location will have 4 balcony screens, they have not mentioned how many total screens they are going to build though with this one. I am anxious to see what happens to AMC once the Dickenson IMAX opens with its other 13 screens and then now Warren building so close as well. AMC will need to do some major upgrades or risk being shut down or turned into a dollar theater probably.

As for Warren showing Journey to the Center of the Earth in 3D, they sure are. So far just in the one large auditorium. They said they have the capability of showing the 3D films in 3 of their theaters. I haven’t got to see it yet so can’t say what its like but I am going Friday to see Batman so I will probably catch Journey as well.
