Very few stations around the country have the ability to broadcast syndicated HD programming. Their excuse is that the digital receivers and servers required to store and send out that programming are too expensive. With local stations now receiving around $.50 per month from each cable and satellite viewer, one would think they might put this gold mine revenue stream to good use and purchase this equipment. Or maybe into local news. Or maybe into Dolby Digital sound. OETA has done all this with only state appropriations and donations.

Seinfeld has been in HD on TBS for a while now. I’ve caught a few episodes, but you can only watch any show (other than the original Star Trek) a certain number of times.

Fortunately for those of us in Tulsa, KJRH does have most of the syndicated HD programming available, such as Wheel, Jeopardy, Ellen and Regis and Kelly. I have caught Legend of the Seeker on WGN HD, as KMYT in Tulsa can’t do anything other than network hd and sister station Fox 23 carries Seinfeld so we won’t be getting that either. I believe Two and a Half men is also available in HD but KTUL can only do the network stuff too. KOTV haas the remaining show that are syndicated in HD and they can’t do it either.
