OETA Movie Club in HD

I forgot to mention this last week, but OETA has begun carrying some movies in HD on Friday and Saturday nights as part of B.J. Wexler’s OETA Movie Club. The Movie Club’s intro has been in HD for many weeks, but “Hotel Rwanda” is the first actual movie I’ve seen them carry that was in HD.

  1. zenithtv responds:

OETA needs to move their antenna up higher and increase power output because on uhf 32 picture was not breaking up like it is now! Save a nickle save a dime move to vhf and save that dime!!!!!!!

  2. trueview responds:

With channel 13’s local news also in HD they have pulled ahead of the other local channels.

I have only caught one of the movies in HD and was surprised.

  3. Dennis Whiteman responds:

I’ve become a big fan of OETA. I was critical when they stopped carrying HD 24 hours a day and made a deal with cable that wasn’t friendly to the rest of us. But they carry more and better HD than any other network delivered free over the air. It’s too bad that the outlying cable operators don’t see it as a critical addition to their services.

  4. mdeatherage responds:

I can’t cut OETA any slack as long as they continue to make two public television channels available exclusively to people who pay a private company for access to them.

One wonders if they understand what “public television” means.
