Watch KFOR-DT Tonight

I got an email to watch KFOR-DT tonight at 10 PM. I have no idea what they are going to announce.

Wow, the news in HD looks great! The audio is a little out of sync and one of the overlays was wrong for the story they were showing… but hey, for a first broadcast, I’ll definitely take it! Yay!

If memory serves, this comes about 10 years after they initially began test broadcasting in HD. I remember trying (in vein) to pick up Leno when they flipped on the low power transmitter in the very early days. KFOR has come a long way!

Looks really good. I also am seeing audio sync issues.

We’re working on the audio sync issues. Some technicial issues to resolve. All engineers have been here 24 hours +. All should be corrected soon.

The audio sync looked good tonight (Sunday) during the 10pm newscast. Given that everything was ripped out and replaced within 24 hours, it’s a minor miracle there weren’t any major issues!

when we bought our tv, channel four broadcast digital 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. No intro or anything — just went on the air and then off. IF NBC had a HD show then you got some HD. I don’t remember when they decided to add Leno but I remember it meant an HD program every night.

Then Directv had HDNET. That was all. I cannot speak for Dish because I did not have itl We have indeed came along way since then.
