KOCO Signal Strength

Does anyone know if KOCO has dropped their transmitter power level lately? In Moore, I can barely receive KOCO and the signal strength fluctuates wildy between 30% and 70%. This started a few days ago as far as I can tell. All of the other digital stations are locked in at 90% or Better on [...]

KOKH-DT Channels 25-2, 25-3

Can anyone else receive 25-2 and 25-3 from KOKH? I have been trying to tune the KOKH weather subchannel on 25-2 but my receiver can’t find it. I don’t know if there is something wrong with the receiver or if KOKH is not broadcasting those channels right now.

KUOK ???

DirecTV has started carrying KUOK, channel 35, as part of their OKC area locals. I can’t find much info about it except that at various times it has been associated with Harvest and Telemundo, is independent, and broadcasts from Norman with .8KW of power. I don’t subscribe the DirecTVs locals so I can’t actually watch [...]

What Happened to KOCO 5-2 Weather???

I heard thunder and saw lightning flashes so I tuned 5-2 to check the weather readar and see how far away it was. 5-2 is just broadcasting a bitstarved version of their normal programming on 5-1.

HD Basketball Championships?

I would like to know why the conference championships for most major conferences are in HD this year except for the Big12. Last night I noticed that Big East and ACC teams playing in the conference playoffs in glorious HD. Meanwhile, OK and OSU both played in SD. Why don’t people in Big12 country expect [...]

OSU on ESPN2HD Last Night

Watched OSU play Texas A&M last night on ESPN2 in HD. The picture looked really good but the sound was only 2ch stereo. I thought ESPN broadcast in Dolby Digital 5.1 Anyway, was glad that OSU pulled it out in the last minute. Boy they sure do play a lot of freshmen.

Since it is December now and we were told “end of the year” for KAUT to start digital broadcasts I thought I would ask if anyone has heard anything definite.

TitanTV now lists subchannels…

The TitanTV guide now has listings for the subchannels for DTV broadcasters that are multicasting. Curiosly, they are showing the same broadcasts on 25.2 as on 25.1 except they are SD instead of HD. Also they show channels 34.1 and 34.2 as the HD and SD programming for KOCB. The listings for KETA are still [...]

Schedule for PBS HD broadcasts ???

Does anyone know where a daily schedule of the programs broadcast in HD on PBS can be found? The link on this website no longer works. It links to the SD broadcasting at OETA channel 11. You would think that in this era of HD and internet we would be able to find out what [...]

VHF/UHF Question for the Engineers…

Most DTV broadcasters are using UHF channels right now but a few ( KOCO locally ) have elected to stay with VHF channels and apparently some broadcasters nationwide have plans to possibly switch back from UHF to their old VHF channels once the analog broadcasts cease.

Did anyone else notice KQOK Monday night ?

Found KQOK-DT on 30-1 on Monday night about 8pm. No sound but I was surprised I picked it up since it is in Shawnee and is the mother of all multipath signals for me in Moore. I barely can get the analog broadcast. Not that I will be watching it since I don’t speak Spanish [...]

Fox25 is fox24 now ???

So I get home and turn on the tv and the channel is 24-3 which I thought was odd since I left it on 25-1 this morning. It says Fox25 in the corner though. I click the next channel button and I get channel 24-4 which turns out to be what was the fox weather [...]

Cox IEEE1394 will be activated on April 1st.

I just finished talking to Glenn Fuller in Administration at Cox and he assures me that Cox fully intends to fulfill the April 1st deadline mandated by the FCC to activate the firewire ports on the SA3250 for all customers who request it.
