Today’s mail included a flyer from Cox OKC announcing that starting tomorrow, 06 April, TNT HD will launch on Cox Channel 729 and 713 will launch OETA HD “coming soon.” Since no one who frequents this site has been able to get a start answer from OETA, who knows when “coming soon” launch date will [...]

1080p HDTVs are now available some places

Over the weekend I visited the Crutchfield site and found this short list of 1080p LDP HDTVs you can get now or reserve because the model is temporarily “out of stock.” There have been a couple threads started on the 1080p HDTVs from Mitsubishi, so this is a follow-up to those postings.

Updated Informal survey of Cox HD and DVR offerings around the country

Another SD DTV channel joins the multi-casting bandwagon

Saturday I ran thru the OTA DTV channels and discovered OKC’s KTBO-DT was registering 14.01, 14.02, 14.03 and 14.04. Sunday they are listing different programs for each subchannel except 14.04 but they are obvious still in shake down mode because some of the subchannels are not working properly. So now, in OKC, we have two [...]

HiDefSooner’s VHF DTV Reception Solution works for Mid-town OKCity too.

Downtown sections of larger cities are notorious for reception problems. I am located in the Mesta Park Neighborhood, which is north of downtown so you would think DTV would be no problem. WRONG! This old house has always been a reception headache for analog TV, FM radio and now DTV reception. My attic (two story [...]

Not Just Another Shopper\’s Survival Guide to Buying a HDTV Set

These sorts of articles are old news for many long timers at HDTVOK.COM because so many of them are heavy on fluff and weak on susbtance. Titan TV dot com does it again

If you visit www.titantv.com/ today you will see 24 hour programming listed for KETA-DT. I called OETA here in OKC and got a “Huh?” type response. I was forwarded to the engineering dept and they could come up with no good reason for Titan TV to be running a 24 hour schedule of programming for [...]
