Tulsa Cox HD DVR Question

Will they hook this up via DVI or will it be composite cables like my current HD Box? Anyone know…….?

FOX HD in Tulsa via Cox

I just noticed yesterday evening (after the games) that we have Fox HD on Cox Cable. I had no idea this was even in the works. I’m sure this has been covered elsewhere, it was just news to me that it was available on Cox. Good news for next week’s games though.

ESPN Crawl

The crawl at the bottom of ESPN and ESPN2, recently, have become obscured. They used to show just fine, in full, but I’ve noticed over the last few months it looks like they’ve been “pushed down” about halfway. I haven’t made any adjustments to my TV (Sony 52″). Anyone else experience this?

The Masters in HD

Okay, the Masters looked great in HD. However, it looked nowhere near as clear as the Masters “clip” that is included in the CBS HD commercials. As has been discussed here before, ALL of those clips are superior to what I see when I watch HD programming. What’s the reason?

Cox HD in Tulsa (OKC too?)

Yesterday I noticed that all of my non-local HD channels were giving me the ‘Subscription Service’ message. INHD1 and 2 had been doing this for a while but since I rarely watch them, I wasn’t bothered and I assumed Cox was now charging for them. Well, ESPN-HD and Discovery HD were doing the same thing [...]

Digital TV in Tulsa

I’ve noticed that KTUL (Channel has been promoting that they are now “broadcasting in digital television” and have added DT to their logo. What does this mean, exactly? I don’t notice any difference in PQ. Also, not long ago, on Cox cable they changed the name of channels 6, 8 and 9 to KOTV-DGTL, KTUL-DGTL [...]

Cox STB in Tulsa

Is it true they’re rolling out a new model in Tulsa……a 6100 or 6200 or something? I got one in September but I’m sure it isn’t the lastest one. If true, what would you have to do to upgrade to the new box and what benefits would it provide?

DVD Players

Another question guys. I have a Sony 51″ HDTV but still have our old non-prog scan DVD player. I’ve read that a prog scan is much better and other places I’ve read that it won’t make much difference unless you buy a super high end model. Is it worthwhile to get a prog scan DVD [...]

HD Converter – Rent or Buy?

What programming would you get if you purchased an HD converter vs renting the Cox model (Tulsa – Motorola something or other I think)? I have a friend who keeps asking me why you wouldn’t just buy one and I’m not sure what the programming differences would be. What programming would you lose out on [...]

ER HD in Tulsa

Anyone else watch this last night, or try to? It was very pixelated…I guess that’s what you would call it, very “digital” looking with all of the blocks and such. I’m guessing this was a Cox/NBC problem. Anyone else have this problem?

Cleaning Your TV

How do you clean your screen on your widescreen TV’s? Amazingly, my manual doesn’t address this question. I have a Sony 51″ and I got it about 2 months ago so I’m sure it’s need of cleaning, but I don’t want to use Windex and a paper towel which is what I used on my [...]

Fox in Tulsa

I keep seeing that Fox is broadcasting in EDTV (which is what, exactly?) but I haven’t noticed an improved pq. Watching the World Series for example….it looks the same as any other channel to me. What am I missing? I’m using Cox Digital Cable and their HD service and I generally watch channel 705.

HD Channels and Closed Captioning

Why is CC not available on HD broadcasts? Or is it and I just missed it? We’ve watched ER the last few weeks in HD but can’t get the CC to work. Is it simply not available with all HD or is just certain shows?

KOTV – Tulsa

Does anyone (HiDefSooner maybe?) have an update as to when KOTV in Tulsa will begin broadcasting the CBS HD programming? Cox says it’s coming but they don’t give a date. Thanks.

Cox HD Customers

I am set to have the digital and HD upgrade insalled Saturday morning in hopes that the OU-Ala game WILL actually be televised in HD. For those who have the Cox HD setup, can you give me any tips or things that I will need to do in order to watch the HD programing? Any [...]
