Busted big screen

So how does one go about getting a big screen HDTV fixed? My 52″ RCA just died… I turned it on, heard a strange popping sound, the picture did not come on, and then the room filled with the burning smell of fried electronics. The warranty expired 3 weeks ago (figures), so I am a [...]

Cox OKC removing most of the PPV channels on June 3

I received a notice in the mail from Cox the other day indicating that they will be removing PPV channels 511-530 from their digital channel lineup on June 3, with their EOD channel picking up the slack. Hopefully, this means more room for adding HD channels in the near future.

Schedule correction

The HDTV schedule for today on this website lists the Cubs/Mets on InHD starting at noon, but that game is no longer on the InHD schedule on their website, nor does it show up on the Cox program guide. Instead, it looks like they will be showing the Padres/Diamondbacks at 3:30. Needless to say, as [...]

Update on Firewire (IEEE1394) activation for Cox SA3250 boxes?

Wasn’t today the deadline for firewire activation? Anyone have anymore info on this? Hopefully, this can be the rare HDTV-related deadline that is actually met on time.

KETA-DT?

For the first time in awhile, I just tried to tune in KETA-DT on channel 32. I am getting absolutely nothing as of 6:20 PM. I thought they came on at 6PM? I am using an indoor antenna, but I have been able to tune them pretty well before here in Norman and I am [...]

Audio on KOCO-DT?

I’m currently watching Alias and I am getting no audio from KOCO-DT on Cox in Norman. Every other channel seems to be fine. Anyone else having a problem?

Major League Baseball on InHD

I’ve noticed that two baseball games have popped up on InHD’s sports schedule: Giants @ Padres on April 8 and Blue Jays @ Red Sox on April 10. Does anyone know if they have released any sort of official schedule yet for the games they will be carrying? Also, are the HD baseball games going [...]

Digital cable problems in Norman

I was having major problems with my digital cable in Norman this morning, both with the SD and HD channels. The audio seemed to be coming in fine, but the video had major problems on all of the digital channels… it seemed to be going forward about 3 frames, then going backward for a couple [...]

HD PPV movies on cable?

Does anyone know if there are any plans in the works for a recent-release HD PPV movie channel that would be available on Cox at some point? I know that Direct TV has an HD PPV movie channel. It seems like there would be a good market for such a channel, since the options for [...]

Cable signal problems and HD?

I plan to sign up for HD service through Cox once they start leasing the boxes. However, the cable signal into my house is pretty weak… at times I have difficulty just getting some of the regular digital channels, so I assume I would have even more problems receiving an HD signal. Does anyone know [...]

KFOR moves to Cox channel 3

Looks like KFOR has moved to Cox channel 3 in the OKC area, from channel 7. As has been discussed in the past, I believe this is due to the interference some were getting on channel 7 from KOCO-DT. Personally, my cable reception in Norman is much worse on channel 3, but oh well. Hopefully [...]

New HDTV boxes and rental in OKC – response from Cox

I emailed Cox customer service this morning about when the new boxes might be available and if they will ever rent their HD boxes.
