Putting HDTV on the map in Oklahoma

I was at Wal-Mart in Moore the other night and I saw this $300 Magnavox profile 1.1 Blu-Ray player. I like the idea of cheaper Blu-Ray players coming out to help drive down prices and push the format to consumers but why not just get a PS3 for $100 more.

HD-DVD strikes back from the post Warner Blu-Ray Exclusive announcement with discounts starting with the HD-A3 MSRP that has dropped to $149.99.  This is the entry level HD-DVD box, it will not do 1080p but for $150 it is not a bad price.

Blockbuster in a surprise move said it would carry only Blu-Ray discs in a vast majority of its brick and mortar stores. HD-DVD titles will still be carried in 250 out of 1450 stores and online.

The hottest release has to be Planet Earth this week on Blu-Ray and HD-DVD this week. You can also check it out on Discovery HD Theater. If you want to tweak you HD setup and you have an HD-DVD player get the Digital Video Essentials disc for HD-DVD.
