OETA subchannels

Posted by: fenly on July 24th, 2005

I don’t know how recent this is, but I just did a rescan of my over the air hdtv channels, and 3 subchannels popped up for KETA. None of them were showing the same thing as analog OETA.
Note from UltimateOETA alternates between a single HD channel and four multicast channels. This is usually done every [...]

OETA and program guide

Posted by: mdeatherage on July 13th, 2005

Every now and then, the question comes up about why (once KAUT-DT) is on the air, anyone in OKC would still want to use analog channels. Tonight, right now, there’s another fine example of why: OETA still has absolutely no control over its program guide.
Right now, KETA-DT (13-1) is supposed to be showing Cooking [...]

All OETA DTV Stations Go Full Power, More Hours on the Air

Posted by: Kevin Sherrard on March 3rd, 2005

I talked to OETA this morning and all of the OETA DTV stations are now running at full power. They have also expanded the hours that they are on the air. All of the OETA DTV stations broadcast from 6AM - Midnight (same as their analog hours) 7 days a week. They pass through whatever [...]

I saw that KETA-DT was transmitting the PBS HD feed at 7:30 AM today. Have they added more hours to their schedule?

Another OETA oddity

Posted by: kbnorm on February 28th, 2005

One of my favorite shows is Nature on OETA PBS-HD Sunday night. This past weekend they had a Nature show about sharks on the SD-13 (as listed in the newspaper), but on HD 13-1 it was a Nature episode about dogs. I suspect that the shark program might not have been available in [...]

OETA HD update

Posted by: marobi on January 19th, 2005

I submitted a question to OETA wondering when they were going to start simulcasting their local programming. Here was their response:
We are currently broadcasting HD in the Tulsa area on Channel 38 over the air from 6:00pm to 10:00pm Monday through Sunday. We currently have FCC Approval for an extension to allow us more [...]

OETA

Posted by: anonymous on January 11th, 2005

Does anyone know when KETA (PBS) will go full power and 24/7? I thought it was suppose to be after the first of the year, but have not heard anything.

HD Programming

Posted by: hidef_fan on December 7th, 2004

Does anyone know of a reliable source with correct listings for OETA channel 32-1 evening broadcasts from OKC? OETA’s website appears to only list their analog broadcasting. I find many times while flipping thru channels that what is showing on the DT broadcast is not the same as analog 13. I find [...]

OETA status…

Posted by: anonymous on November 21st, 2004

Well, here it is almost Thanksgiving and I thought I would ask
if anyone has heard if OETA might be finally finishing their
new control center?
It is starting to look like a horse race to see which is finished
first, OETA control center or the I-40 reconstruction project.

KETA (OETA) Delay Explained

Posted by: anonymous on July 24th, 2004

You probably thought that OETA would end testing and expand their schedule when their Oklahoma City control room was finished in September or October. Well, the wait will be extended another two or three months.

The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), KCTS/Seattle Public Television and NHK of Japan will provide 17 digital PBS stations across the country with live, high-definition (HDTV) coverage of both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, marking the first time these major public events will be broadcast in this new digital television format. KETA Programing Guide? Is there one?

Posted by: anonymous on June 30th, 2004

Does there exist somewhere a programing guide for the digital PBS channel KETA ? I would like to be able to catch the shows I am interested in but I never know what is coming and when. The only thing I have is the nightly listings on this website.

No KETA-HD Program Info on HDTivo

Posted by: Cutisdoc on May 25th, 2004

I am not receiving any KETA-HD programming info yet on my new HDTivo program guide-it continues to say “Normal Programming” or someting like that. All of my other HDTV frequencies have populated their programming data. Any one else having this problem?
Also, I’m having pixelation and periodic dropouts while my signals are quite strong (in the [...]

Locally produced HDTV program on KETA-DT Wednesday night!

Posted by: pfriese on November 12th, 2003

I just happened to turn to KETA-DT after West Wing concluded on KFOR-DT. They are running an HDTV program on The Cowboy Hall of Fame. From their website, I believe it is this program, Legacy http://www.oeta.onenet.net/legacy.html So far it is a very nice program, hopefully they will give advance notice if this is screened again. [...]

Telephone Call to KETA.

Posted by: Noble-Al on August 14th, 2003

Telephone Conversation with KETA (OKC Channel 13, Digital 32)
I spoke to Mr. Thrush, who said that KETA expects PBS to begin the 24/7 HD feed in January 2004.
Around that time, the station also expects to double their power from 500 Kw to 1 Mw, and extend their hours, now 6pm to 10pm.
However, the OETA network [...]
