KFOR HD Coverage of the OKC Memorial Marathon
I really enjoyed watching KFOR’s HD coverage for the OKC Memorial Marathon this morning before church. There was a mix of SD and HD cameras, but the HD shots looked really good.

Cox Oklahoma Giving Away a 3DTV
Cox Oklahoma tweeted that they are giving away a 3DTV. You have to sign up at the Cox Norman, Edmond, or Riverside stores by 6 PM April 11.

KFOR Transmits HD from Chopper
KFOR-DT transmitted HD from their helicopter for the first time today. KFOR-DT is definitely stepping up the HD news coverage in the state. Avatar 3D in OKC
I went and saw Avatar this weekend at the Warren Theater in Moore. The Warren uses a 3D system from the Dolby. The AMC theater at Quail Spings Mall now has an IMAX theater which opened this month. Has anyone seen Avatar at both theaters? If you have which experience did you like better?

KFOR News Goes HD
KFOR local news goes HD tonight! There still will be a mix of SD and HD video probably for a good while but at least the studio camera shots are HD. This is a big hurdle, hats off the engineers! Upgrade done is 24 hours, Wow! Nice intro logo!

KWTV has started a crawl at the bottom of their picture stating that they will cease analog broadcasting at 1:00 PM February 17, 2009.

Super Bowl to Feature 3D ads
NBC will broadcast the first ever 3D commercial during the Super Bowl. The ads will be for the Monsters and Aliens movie and Sobe Lifewater. The ads will run at the end of the second quarter.

Seinfeld in HD for Local Syndication
Seinfeld will be avilable in HD for local syndication later this month Sony Pictures plan to annouce at CES this week. Currently I don’t know of any station in OKC that can broadcast HD syndicated programming. I believe there is one station in Tulsa that can do this. READ

Anyone else notice the clock in the left hand side of the screen during tonight’s Sunday Night Football Game on KFOR-DT? UPDATE: The clock was taken off in the third quarter.
