DirecTV launched a new satellite, DirecTV 12 yesterday. The new satellite should be deployed sometime in March to launch more HD channels as well as 3D services.

Today is the day!. I believe KOCO analog is going to go off the air at 9AM today. I am not sure about the other stations, so let us know what is going on out there.

The time has finally come for the 1st part of the DTV transition to now become reality. If you have a digital tv or a converter you will need to do a rescan for digital tv channels today.
In the Oklahoma City area KWTV-DT is moving its DTV channel from 39 to 9 at 1:00 PM. [...]

The Oklahoman is reporting that OKC stations KFOR, KWTV, KOCO, KOKH and OETA will shutdown their analog transmitter on February 17th as planned. KWSO in Lawton will also will shutdown their analog transmitter.
NOTE: KOCB will shutdown their analog transmitter as well.

Congress passed today a bill that would change the DTV transition date from February 17th to June 12th. President Obama said he plans to sign the bill. I believe most stations in Oklahoma will still cut off their analog transmitter on February 17th anyways.
