CBS wants to join the party too. I say let them. The local affiliates may have a say in it too, since FOX, ABC, CBS are making them pay part of their retransmission consent fees back to the Networks. They may say go ahead and then they can keep all their ad money and make their subchannels their main focus. I’m sure this would be a big bonus for MeTv, AntennaTv, ThisTV, RTV etc..

We cut the cord years ago around here, never looked back. As others have said it’s 90% junk anyways.

I finally got my Dish service canceled about two months ago, but during the nearly four years I used the DVR feature of the 211K receiver, the hard drive never shut off and the receiver’s sleep mode was always connected to my TV. Most receivers aren’t made smart enough about energy usage to go into sleep and hibernate modes like computers and mobile devices.

I hooked up an external drive to my 211 Dish receiver and it works fine. HOWEVER, the external drive will not shut off or go to sleep, even if the 211 receiver is shut off. The only way to shut off the external drive is to unplug it, but then the 211 will need to do a 15 minute reboot. Then if you turn the external drive back on, the 211 will need to do another 15 minute reboot! I don’t want to have the external drive running constantly but Dish said there’s no way (that they know of) that the external drive will either go to sleep or shut itself off. Anybody have an idea how to get it to sleep or shut off by itself without disconnecting it from the 211?

Canceling my satellite has been more difficult than I expected. The day that I called and cancelled, they cancelled all my HD channels even though I had two more weeks that were pre-paid. Without HD, there’s no reason for me to have the service. So, I called them back and said, hey, what’s the deal, I’m paid up for HD for two more weeks, and so they turned them back on.

Then, they billed me for two more weeks, including local channels which I never had, and extended my service through Nov. 8th. Now, they’ve billed me for a complete month through Dec. 8th and they still haven’t sent me a box to return their receiver in. Plus, they’re still billing me for local channels even though I don’t need, want or use them.

I’m going to call them tonight and record the call, making sure they understand that I’m not to be billed again, and they they’re sending me a box. Somehow, I think they think I called to cancel the cancellation, which isn’t true. I’m really canceling, they just don’t know it yet. Sheesh!

OMG, you’re giving up Hog Men, Log Men, Dog men, Ice Road Men, Gold Men, Alaskan Gold Men, Ocean Gold Men, Swamp Men, Pawn Men, Cajun Pawn Men, Repo Men, Moonshine Men, Redneck Men, Cajun Redneck Men, Voice, Idol, X-Factor, Think You Can Dance-Sing-Tell Jokes-Act, Project Runway, Runway All-Stars, Biggest Loser, Biggest Loser Couples, etc etc etc …………?

I’m right with you, there is almost NOTHING worth looking at on TV any more. The cheap, junk reality thing has completely taken over television, to the point I rarely ever watch my DirecTV any more. With Food Network not showing cooking shows any more, only competitions, History, Discovery, and TLC only showing stupid people acting stupid, MTV, CMT, VH1, and TVLand all showing reality shows now instead of what their names imply, I’m about ready to do the same thing. Along with millions of other people I’m sure. It’s only going to get worse.

Hope everyone enjoyed the games in HD! It’s a hurculean task to keep 2 master controls going, and build out a new HD Master Control and train everyone to use it all at the same time. Now that we are up and running, we will begin switching out our syndicated feeds for HD content and start accepting HD commercial spots. Thanks for your patience.

Big Bang Theory on KOKH last night was definitely not the same resolution as the all-evening long version on TBS-HD. Maybe they aren’t set up yet to receive and play out the higher resolution satellite signals.

alot of they syndicated show such as the judges shows are in SD i believe that they are not being shot in HD.Hopefully they news will be in HD

As of early this morning, we made the switch over to the new Master Control room and KOKH and KOCB are now HD. We do plan on carrying the Big 12 Tourney in HD.

The OU game seemed a little sharper than the OSU game. Perhaps they were both in HD, but ESPN used their ‘A’ gear on the OU game. The fuzziness in both broadcasts could be because of the conversion from 720p to 1080i.

I don’t think it’s in HD, but at least they got the aspect ratio correct and it definitely looks better than the zoom feature on my Dish receiver.

watching the game and doing the pre game they had the bars but when the game start they remove the bars and i believe the game is in HD
