The actual Cox technician that came out (not a contractor), had never done an install in a TiVo before. We were both prepared for an all-day effort. It took 30 minutes and would have been less if we waited for the card to finish its initial code upgrade once the head end saw the card on the line before calling in to have the card provisioned. All in all, I'm very pleased with how it turned out. The tech (41656) was prepared, professional and knew what he was doing on everything else except the TiVo. Good learning experience for both of us. Now, if only Cox could train their first level CSRs and technicians as well. As for the HDTiVo - a thing of beauty. My Series 3 uses two CableCARDs and I have an M-card for my TiVo HD. Each card costs me $1.99 per month. I'm not sure if Cox is still giving out M-cards in OKC or not. One thing to note is that because of the stupid copy restrictions placed on TiVo by CableLabs, you will only be able to transfer recordings from local channels from your TiVo to your computer. I can also transfer BBC America programs, too. Other than that it's all marked copy protected. My Series 2 has no such transfer restrictions. However, the HD transfers are amazing. I transfered the OU Texas game in HD (all 26 GB!) and it looks great. Only one or two entries talk about OKC but the general trend is: get the M-series card that way you only need one and not two cable cards, you will not be allowed to do self-install so be prepared to pay a random cost for the cards and the install. Cox doesn't appear to be consistant between customer service reps on what they charge. I just ordered my TiVo HD and should have it by next week. Once I get my appointment scheduled, I'll post my adventures back to here and TC. Does anyone out there have experience with the device or with Cox's Cable Card service? I understand about losing VoD and don't really care. Tivo has way more functionality than the SA 8240 including multi-room and TivoToGo. I am concerned in how robust the device is in Cox's OKC network. Some of the samsung receivers require a card to be able to access the menu's. I currently use a Hughes E86 and a Hughes HTL directv hd receiver for over the air digital channels only, on some older tv's. Is this indeed possible and if so, how exactly do you get it to work this way? Stephen
