DTV/HDTV Receiver

I was just told that you can take a satellite receiver such as a standard DirecTV receiver, remove the access card, connect your OTA antenna to it and use it as a DTV/HDTV receiver. Is this indeed possible and if so, how exactly do you get it to work this way? StephenPosted 3 years ago #

Any Directv hd receiver except the current models. Some of the samsung receivers require a card to be able to access the menu's. I currently use a Hughes E86 and a Hughes HTL directv hd receiver for over the air digital channels only, on some older tv's. If you connect them to a dish that is still aimed at directv's sats you will also get guide info for the digital locals.Posted 3 years ago #
