The picture on CBS DT is one of the best i have seen; OTA or through dtv hd locals however the sound is still 2ch.

CBS do you have any plans; tentative or stated about getting your sound to dd 5.1 for broadcasts.

Please respond

Thanks

CBS has been sending out Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound along with its HD picture since day one. KWTV News9, with ALL the latest weather gizmos that can be purchased, is the ONLY DT station in Okahoma City that only transmits in Dolby ProLogic Analog sound, and has no plans to ever change that. They have never issued a statement as to why this is the case.

Gotta love how KWTV refuses to make the necessary upgrades to broadcast DD 5.1, but spent who knows how much money on an HD-equipped helicopter–with no way to actually get that HD signal into people’s homes.

I haven’t heard of any plans to upgrade at this time.
