June 25, 10:35 PM. Brand new “The Tonight Show.” No severe weather, no weather map up – and no HD.

Is there some way to petition NBC instead of KFOR for a waiver to get NBC-HD over the satellite? Surely the FCC makes exemptions for “massive and repeated broadcaster stupidity with no sign of abatement,” right?

I should note that *just as I hit “post reply”* on this, at 10:55 PM, the HD finally started. Are they watching the server now?

I noticed that during yesterdays 5.30 PM CDT NBC national news on Cox Channel 704 my Panasonic HDTV display would go blank momentarily when they switched from HD to a SD display in the HD screen, ie. with the side bars or back again. I have seen that in the past on at least one occasion. I don’t know if its the NBC feed to KFOR or its something at KFOR.

It got very irritating so I switched over to Cox Channel 3 to watch the remainder of the news broadcast.
