I’m not sure if this is the proper forum, but I’m wondering if anyone has any knowledge of what equipment I need to recieve Tulsa HD stations in McAlester. I would appreciate any help in getting this set up!

Thanks in advance!

A large directional antenna with preamp/amp. Perhaps ralfy will check in. He is in mcalester. He gets everything, I believe with a large antenna.

Ok, I just wanted to know if it was possible to receive them at all out here first. Now I just need to figure out what size antenna/etc. I would need to use.

I would recommend something at least in the 130 to 150inches in length and at least 25 above the ground. Channelmaster makes some very good outdoor antennas for long range reception, but I usually just use whatever I can get at Radio Shack. You should be able to get some of the stations from Arkansas also.

strat, I live near the Buffalo watertower, on top of the hill. I use a 91xg with a cm7777 preamp, combined with the UHF part of a cm3020 and a cm7775 preamp, which is KHBS Fort Smith only. I get KJRH, KOTV, KOET, KTEN, KOED, KHBS, KOKI, KMYT and KWBH, but not without dropouts, depending on the weather. It’s too far from the towers for guaranteed reception. You can come and see my setup.

I live down on East Seminole, so I’m not sure if I’m going to be high enough to get a good signal. I’m not quite sure where the buffalo watertower is, but I’m sure I can find it. I’m just trying to figure out if it’s worth trying to put up an antenna since I’m not sure if I’ll get much not being on top of a hill or anything.

strat you’re way down the hill there. I’m almost positve you’re not gonna get anything there, at least not without a tower. You might wanna try the cm3020 they sell at LOWE’s, and if it doesn’t work, take it back.
