KJRH’s new weather graphics system is HD ready. Chief Meteorologist Dan Threlkeld said Wednesday night that the new graphics/maps look incredible in HD. However, don’t expect to see them in HD anytime soon…they have a ways to go before their news ops go HD. Also, I don’t believe the KJRH-owned radar system is yet HD ready nor are a few other of the weather systems they have.

They have had the ability to superimpose the radar map and a few others things over the HD feed for almost 6 months now. They just don’t always do it.

Yes, I have seen them display the small radar box and the warnings bug on the HD feed from time-to-time. Now, they actually have upgraded their main weather graphics system that’s used during the newscasts and it is fully HD capable. In fact the graphics that they are producing with it now are in HD but, they are not being broadcast in HD for obvious reasons.
