I live on the North East side of Norman (Robinson and 12th). I just purchased a Phillips 20 element antenna (model SDV7400K/17). I now pick up KOCO (ABC 5.1 and 5.2) in HD with an excellent signal strength. I picked it up at Lowe’s for around 50 bucks. All the othet network stations come in great as well. The antenna is mounted in the attic. No signal boosters or anything fancy…just the antenna and a cable running to my TV.
Just wanted to share in case you might want to try this solution.

If your on the east side of Norman an attic antenna should work. The further you get west KOCO-DT reception gets more difficult.

I recently purchased the same outdoor antenna as rj709. I live at I-240 and South May in Oklahoma City and I am still not able to get KOCO’s digital channels. The analog channel comes in clearer than with my indoor antenna, but I still get no signal for channels 5.1 and 5.2. Any suggestions? This is the only digital signal I am having trouble with in the Oklahoma City area.

Did you rescan the channels when you installed the new antenna?

Yes, I rescanned the channels, but it still didn’t pick anything up. I’m pretty sure I’m doing everything correctly since I have no problems with any other over-the-air channels.

I’ve contacted KOCO’s engineering department. They said their signal is weaker because an analog station in Lawton is using the same frequency. They said they would be able to boost their digital signal when the analog signals are turned off in February 2009 and referred me to this website for other suggestions on picking up their broadcast.

Is the antenna on the roof or in the attic?
Is the small end of the antenna pointed towards the tower (don’t laugh, I’ve seen many antennas install backwards by mistake).
