Hello,
I have noticed for the last week or so a static or popping noise in the sound from all of CBS shows. I really notice it in explosion scenes and such.
I first noticed it on OTA watching Numb3rs Friday night and tonight I noticed it on The Unit on Directv Local HD.
I set up a test to see if was Directv or OTA. I recorded the Unit tonight on my HR20 from the Directv feed. I had my dad record it from his HR20 on the OTA feed and they both had the exact same problem.
So I can conclude either the national CBS feed is corrupted and KWTV is just passing it OTA as well as Directv or it is a problem on the local level.
Any ideas???????

I heard it too, sounded like horrible clipping of the audio. Hopefully KWTV’s Dolby ProLogic equipment has gone bad and they will finally have to make the move to Dolby Digital 5.1 like everyone else.

Well I am glad I was not imagining things…maybe the station engineer can chime in and let us know what is really going on….

I was afraid my receiver was going out. When something with serious bass kicks in, I hear a very loud, annoying pop. I guess the KWTV people don’t watch their own digital channel at night.

I even thought when I first heard in on Numb3rs the other night when the space shuttle was creating sonic booms that my speakers in my TV were blown 
I hope they get it fixed soon….and hopefully they will pass DD 5.1 at some point .
