Noticed today that both 25-2 (weather) and 34-2 (KOCB’s The Tube music video subchannel) are down. Well, the channels are still there, but they’re both just running the color bar test patterns.
Wikipedia’s page for The Tube mentions that the contract between Sinclair and The Tube expired yesterday, which would explain it’s removal, but that wouldn’t have any effect on KOKH’s weather channel, would it?
I can’t say that I am crushed by the loss of The Tube. I mean who wants to watch a MONOPHONIC music video channel on something that is capable of Dolby Digital 5.1 sound!
KOKH is trying to get the weather channel on the air. It was removed because of the FCC rules that there as to be children’s programming subchannels a certain about of hours in a month or week. I am not really sure which.
