OK, I hate conspiracies, but…
KOKH is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting, which famously forced its stations to air a dishonest anti-Kerry documentary late in the 2004 presidential election cycle, and whose VP was requiring all its stations to carry his far right commentaries on the news every night (at that time).
Tonight, KOKH, which probably has the best HD track record in OKC, went off the air just as the paid “Barack Obama Political Message” started (I believe I flipped past it between 6:45 and 7:00 and saw The Simpsons, so I think the timing is right).
If KOKH comes back on just as the World Series starts, I won’t know what to think. 🙁
I thought the same thing, but they did come back on the air before the live speech. I was mostly disappointed that none of the stations I saw, either OTA or satellite, carried it in HD. I recorded it off of channel 4, I looked around for an HD alternative.

KOKH, KOCB, and KTUZ’s (Telemundo) OTA HD signals took a power hit just before 7:00pm. Both KOKH & KOCB were available on HD cable, but their OTA transmitters took longer to restart. At this time (almost 9:00pm) Telemundo’s HD signal is still not back on the air.
I was away from the computer, but I did see that KOKH-DT was back OTA by 7:17 PM. I’m glad.
I really do hate conspiracy theories, especially since Sinclair didn’t have to air the show just because it was on Fox. Local stations pre-empt network programming any time they want, though it would cost Sinclair some money (they’d have to refund the fees for the time to Fox). But it is the silly season.
I also wondered why it wasn’t in HD, though. During the live 4:3 parts, my TV showed a top line that made it look like they were deliberately blacking out left and right sides but the cameras were 16:9, but I’ve noticed that same thing on some other programming and commercials. It looked like the same picture, but I couldn’t swear to it.
