The Chicken Fried News section of last Wednesday’s Oklahoma Gazette’s story “Technical Difficulties” tells the weird experience of a couple in Savage, Minn. whose installation experience included the Tulsa, OK service desk attendants calling the local Minn. police who arrived at the scene, called out the technicians and forced the customers to the ground and put on the handcuffs.

The situation was triggered by a misunderstood telephone conversation between the technicians and the Tulsa emergency dispatchers. The Tulsa dispatchers thought the installers were being held prisoners. The install was taking much longer than expected and the Mrs. had actually baked cookies for the technicians.

How weird is that? Pretty intense customer service training.
